Presidential Run

Hello to all moms and a BIG thank you to all of you who showed up for the Presidential Run. We had a good turn out and prayed for those that were not there, especially because we had some sick ones at home!! Hope they are all feeling better.

Not to lecture, but please remember that Physical Education is a very valuable class for these kids. Exercise needs to happen for all of us. We always need to promote healthy eating and exercise.

The Physical Fitness Test that we do in PE is actually a required class. It is not meant as an option. We are sorry that the run has to be done off site, but would still like ALL kids to participate. God told us to treat our bodies like temples and to treasure them. These tests are not meant as punishment or to be mean, it is meant to teach the kids the proper way to stretch and exercise their bodies. So, please try and get your kids out there and moving.

I do know that some of you will NOT be participating in the RUN as much as we would like to lecture you on that, SMILE, so if you are NOT going to, could you please e-mail us and let us know. We do try very hard to time and record the kids and it is very frustrating if we are waiting on a time for your child and you are not going to have them do it. That way, we will not worry about retesting. The children MUST PARTICIPATE in all events to receive an award. If they do all 5, they DO receive something. NO MATTER HOW THEY SCORED!

We will be having retesting this Friday for those that were absent and for those that were really close to accomplishing a goal that they were trying to achieve. We want them to SUCCEED!!!!!!

Thank you and God bless you all

Writing 5/6

Level 1 & Level 2 Writing Moms,

I will be giving an IEW Parent Overview 1st hour at Bonus THIS FRIDAY outside the library (lasting about 30 min). Please plan to attend if this is the first time you have had a student taking an IEW class.

I will plan to cover a high-level overview of the IEW curriculum (what it is/why it works) and then I will explain exactly how to key word outline and write a paragraph IEW-style. This will help you understand the assignments that your child will be doing this semester and will help you become familiar with some of the IEW terminology and the checklist/labeling process.

Parents that don't have a 5th & 6th grader, but would like to understand the IEW process better are welcome to attend as well!

Yearbook announcement

Hello Ladies!

I wanted to send out a reminder that any photos from your classes that you would like to have in the yearbook, need to be sent in by May 4th, the last co op.

Seniors, a reminder to you that if you would like your senior bio in the yearbook, please send by email a senior picture, a baby picture (optional) and no more than  4 paragraphs that you would like to say about yourself. (what God has shown you through homeschooling, your plans for the future, etc.)

If you would like to send a family photo please send that by the last co op, too.  Depending on how many family photos we receive, will determine whether or not we print the family photos.  (Don't feel bad...be still don't have ours done yet...maybe for Easter!  :)  )

All these are due by the last co op, May 4th. If you have pictures available before May 4th, it would be helpful (and appreciated!) if you could send those at any time.  Our goal is to have the yearbook ready to be published by the end of May.  By that time, we will have further instructions on how to order a yearbook and when it should be available.

Thank you so much for helping to make our yearbook fun!

ART ANNOUNCEMENT

Near the end of 2nd and 3rd hours, art class could use a volunteer mom to help with at least one of these things that we need to do quickly: 1--Take kids to their next class, 2--Wash out brushes, 3--Replace paint water, 4--Take finished art to the foyer, 5--Tidying up for the next class, 6--Corral kids that are waiting to enter the art room. We would only need you for a short amount of time, but it would really help to smooth out the busy class change. Thank you!

Mom's room

This is a reminder that the mom's room is for the mom's to have a place to go, eat, relax, and converse.  Therefore, no students need to be in there. This include babies and high school students and everyone in between.  If your kids need you, they can  come to the door.  Then, you can go see what they need.  This helps us all out. THANKS FOR COOPERATING!!

Evaluations will be passed out this week.  They will in the mom's room. Please fill out and return by March 16th  which is the next full coop.
